Danielle (Dani) Russ, BS, BA, AS, LVT

Dani has dedicated over two decades to veterinary medicine, working across general practice, specialty, emergency care, academia, and research. She holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry from North Carolina State University, along with an Associate degree in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College.

She has spent her career building and developing teams, managing operations, and helping veterinary practices succeed—whether they’re just getting started or have been in business for years. Dani is passionate about supporting independently owned practices and serves as a board member for the Veterinary Specialty Practice Alliance (VSPA) and Tidewater Community College’s Veterinary Assistant Program. She also speaks at major veterinary conferences.

Outside of work, Dani is an equestrian, a fitness enthusiast, and a professional bodybuilder. At home, she enjoys life with her two French Bulldogs, Philomena and Pherdinand.

Dr. Karen Renhout

Karen is a forward-thinking leader in veterinary medicine with over 40 years of experience. She combines her background in emergency care with a deep passion for hospital design, helping practices optimize their space for better workflow and efficiency.

After earning her degree from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, she completed a small animal internship at Kansas State University. Over her 32-year career at the Animal Emergency & Referral Center, she worked her way from Emergency Veterinarian to CEO, leading the design of four cutting-edge hospitals—including a 47,000-square-foot specialty center.

Karen continues to make a lasting impact, recently designing a hospital for a feral cat rescue. As a former president of the Veterinary Specialty Practice Alliance, she remains committed to improving both veterinary care and hospital design standards.
